Lead Electrical Technician

General Purpose

The Lead Engineering Test Technician is a key contributor to the development of new products and support of existing products. The position requires hands-on experience combined with an understanding of basic hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic technology as it is deployed in current and future products. The Lead Test Technician plays a key role in the transition of products from the conceptual stage through development, certification, transition to production and aftermarket support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee all Activities Required to Operate the EE Lab: Maintain all Instrumentation, Manage Local Warehouse of Tools and Components, Procure Lab/Project Materials, Ensure a Safe Working Environment is Maintained, General Housekeeping
• Assist Electrical Engineers for R&D Projects, Troubleshooting, Testing, etc.
• Assemble and Modify Electromechanical Tools
• Program Electromechanical Tools
• Operate and Modify Test Equipment
• Technical Assistance of Supply Chain (Manufacturers, Assembly)
• Technical Assistance of Customers (Internal and External)
• Test Tools per Written Procedures
• Generate Test Procedures and Test Reports
• Provide Input for Development of New Products
• Rework PCB’s with Surface Mount Components
• Create wiring harnesses (crimps, solder, heat shrink, bundling/cable management…)

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Relevant trade school, associates degree or bachelors degree a plus.
• Basic knowledge of electromechanical components with embedded microprocessors
• Ability to Follow Instructions of Electrical Engineers
• Operating Knowledge of Basic Test Equipment: Multimeter, Power Supplies, Data Acquisition (LabVIEW), Digital Oscilloscope

Physical Demands/Requirement:

• Must be able to move and operate the hand-held torque products: Hydraulic tools and pumps, Pneumatic and Electric Torque Multiplier tools.
